Swimming Pool Pump Energy Efficiency Standard AS 5102.1 draft out for public comment

AS 5102.1 Performance of household electrical appliances – Swimming pool pump-units, Part 1: Measurement of energy consumption and performance has been updated and a draft of the standard is now out for public comment.  It’s hoped the new standard will be published before the end of 2019.

Measurements and calculations to derive energy efficiency have changed, while the new standard seeks to better define test requirements and provide more guidance around the test setups.

Austest Labs is accredited for testing to the current version of AS 5102.1 and will be accredited for testing to the new version once published, in anticipation of probable mandatory energy efficiency labelling of swimming pool pumps 12 months after the updated standard is published.
