FCClogo3Austest labs has performed accredited FCC testing (previously with NATA & now under A2LA) since 1996.

Having been appointed by the ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) as a Conformity Assessment Body, Austest is now also recognised by the FCC to perform compliance testing on equipment subject to a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and Certification under FCC Parts 15 and 18 of the Commission’s Rules.

The advantage of this appointment and recognition is the enhancement of Austest’s testing to include equipment (per 15.101) which requires compliance by DoC (Declaration of Conformity).  Where equipment can be approved by either DoC or Certification, DoC is preferred, as the product is deemed compliant immediately upon issue of an accredited FCC test report, without the additional fees and delays inherent with Certification.  This will be a significant saving for clients in terms of costs and time-to-market.

Austest’s DoC reports are the preferred option for clients seeking enhanced confidentiality, due to removal of the need to submit detailed documentation, circuit diagrams and other related information to the FCC, which would then be placed on the FCC web for public viewing.
