CE Marking requirements workshop, Exporting to Europe (Sydney NSW) December 2012
A 1 day workshop will be conducted at our Castle Hill Sydney facility on the 20th of December for manufacturers interested in gaining up-to-the minute knowledge of the European Machinery Directive, EMC Directive and Low Voltage Directive as part of CE marking requirements. While this workshop is mainly aimed at exporters of machinery to Europe, the other 2 main directives covering electrical and electronic products, namely the low voltage and EMC directives, will also be covered.
A tour of our EMC semi anechoic chamber used for EMC emissions and immunity testing and an explanation of the various tests and typical failures will be included in the workshop.
Introduction to the European Machinery Directive
During the ~3 hour session (time varies depending on the number of questions), we will cover:
- The rules and regulations that are applicable to machinery (machinery & EMC Directives),
- Who is responsible and what documentation is required,
- Consequences of non compliance,
- Requirements when purchasing components included within machinery to be sold in the EU,
- Relevant customer requirements and how to meet them,
- How to find information about directive provisions, interpretations and relevant risk assessments,
- Finding information about standards applicable to machinery,
- The last part of session will make clear what the Machinery Directive requires with respect to EMC and electrical safety
For the EMC directive, we will cover:
- What products are applicable,
- What standards including a brief explanation of each test and the typical failures,
- Test equipment used and how you can perform some pre-compliance tests prior to lab submission.
- A tour of our EMC semi anechoic chamber used for radiated emission and immunity testing
Low Voltage Directive subjects:
- Summary of the various standards,
- Key tests found in many of the standards (isolation, ball pressure, flammability, withstand voltage and impulse),
- Typical failures.
Course Documentation
During the seminar you will receive useful templates and check lists that can be used in future CE-marking procedures.
