NZ Telecom no longer accepting PTC200 or PTC220 for headsets
From the end of this month (31 March 2016), the Access Standards team of Spark (previously known as New Zealand telecom) will no longer accept test reports to the analogue PSTN standard PTC200 or PTC220 (private voice inc VoIP) for approval of headsets. The new headset standard is PTC208 and the scope covers the requirements for Headsets used in any telephony application. This includes Bluetooth wireless headsets commonly used with mobile phones and Laptop computers.
It is not intended to cover headsets without microphones which are intended for listening to music or headsets specifically intended for gaming.
Austest Laboratories is accredited for testing to PTC208, Contact us here for a quote.
