From 1 June 2013, the Singapore regulator iDA commenced mandatory Equipment Registration for Powerline Communications (“PLC”) Home Networking Equipment upon Telecommunication Dealer’s Licensees.

The new standard is called IDA TS PLC and is available for download here.  The standard includes compliance for electrical safety to IEC 60950-1, Power Spectrum Density (PSD) requirements and radiated emission requirements below 30MHz including specific prohibited frequencies between 2 and 75Mhz.

Any Singapore dealers of PLC equipment are required to ensure that non-registered PLC equipment or PLC equipment that does not meet the Technical Specification shall not be sold for use in Singapore.
